My Favorite New Studio – The Moving Joint!

I’m so excited to share with you my new favorite yoga and pilates studio in Los Angeles. It is where I have been hiding out during some of my pregnancy and I can’t wait to tell you why. Let me introduce you to The Moving Joint!

For me, it was love at first site. You see, it is actually not the easiest to find good pre and postnatal options around Los Angeles or to also find a studio that offers yoga that is not super crowded or noisy. That is why this place is so special!

They offer private, semi-private and Pilates reformer classes as well as a variety of Yoga, dance and pre and postnatal options. In all of these classes you can easily engage and interact with the instructors because of the smaller class sizes. This is so refreshing and each instructor is so qualified and specialized in what they do especially the pregnancy classes.

Other reasons I recommend The Moving Joint:

  • Provides a warm and friendly environment where you can feel supported to connect, heal and thrive in your body.
  • Offers a selection of Pre and Post natal options: Prenatal yoga, Prenatal pilates reformer, post natal pilates.
  • Very knowledgeable instructors whose abilities excel in both therapeutic and fitness approaches.
  • They offer New Client Intro Special for privates ($99 for 2 one on one sessions), or your first mat pilates, yoga or dance class is FREE. You can’t beat that!

For me, I fell in love with the Reformer Pilates and the pilates room. It’s super intimate, cozy and has a beautiful door that can open up so you can catch a nice breeze (which is helpful especially for some pregnant women!).

I also loved sharing the space with a handful of pregnant women and felt an instant bond and that we are “in this together” type of flow!

The instructor Dawn is also a pleasure to work with! She is incredibly knowledgable and super fun. Her classes challenge us all in a great way and every single time I leave, I feel so relaxed and “blissed” out.

Pilates

What impresses me most however (as a fitness professional) is that all of the Pilates instructors at The Moving Joint have specific certifications or trainings in Prenatal work, and all are aware of any contraindications and safety measures in the pregnancy. This is so important!

 

Here is a video of a class to give you an idea. You will get a great workout but also have fun and leave feeling relaxed! So if you are local, make sure to try out The Moving Joint!
